The Rookery Sloper Hat takes the familiar bucket hat & deliberately knocks it off balance.
Cut with an asymmetric crown & an irregular-width brim, the hat rises on one side while the opposite side drops and collapses towards the overlapping brim. Structured stitched panels give the crown shape without making it rigid, allowing the hat to sit differently depending on how it is worn.
The result is somewhere between workwear, an old slum hat & something altogether less respectable — deliberately crooked, crushed & slightly wrong.
Made in heavy Irish linen, chosen for the way it softens, creases & develops character with wear. Rather than relying on starch or heavy moulding to create the silhouette, the distortion is built into the actual cut & construction of the hat.
